Foundation

The foundation has been established on the name of Late Smt. Kajalrekha Banerjee since ten years to be able to provide an obvious support to the physical disability of the musicians and music students as much as possible.

The inimitable life style of Smt. Kajalrekha Banerjee was the prime inspiration behind this social welfare. Despite being afflicted with polio since childhood her endless will power helped her learn the different departments of vocal music from the eminent personalities and set an example through her gifted sense and experience of life to perform, write and teach music. The rich heritage, tradition, essence and the strength of the music forced her forget the physical disability and unbearable pain. We, through the foundation, are trying to generate it amongst the children of the lesser god draw inspiration.

We have been successfully organizing our Annual Music Concerts with stalwarts of our country like Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty, Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee, Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, Pt.Ulhas Kashalkar, Pt Swapan Chowdhury, Shrimati Kaushiki Desikan, Pt Kushal Das, Pt. Kumar Bose, Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumder, Pt. Debashish Bhattacharya, Shri Sreekanto Acharya and many others. We had two world music shows “TAALYAGNA” and “TABLA TALE” where Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Ustad Rashid Khan also performed and donated their performances for this noble cause, where two disabled musicians were felicitated by the Mayor of Calcutta and disabled talented music students had been given scholarships every month throughout the year by the foundation. Periodical music concerts are organized every two months by the foundation for the youngsters, providing them a stage in front of the celebrities, connoisseurs and patrons.

On this occasion along with the activities of last years we have provided a lifelong Medical Insurance to atleast fifteen genuinely needy and talented music students.

I EARNESTLY REQUEST ALL MUSIC LOVERS, CORPORATE HOUSES AND DEVELOPMENT ACTORS TO PROVIDE THEIR GENEROUS HELP AND SUPPORT, WHICHEVER WAY IT SUITS THEM, TO FULFILL THE MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION.
